The Five Peaks Challenge
The Five Peaks Challenge is an extension to the popular
National Three Peaks. The Five Peaks involves climbing Ben Nevis,
Scafell Pike, Snowdon,
Slieve Donard in Northern
Ireland, and Carrantuohill
in the Republic of Ireland.
The Five Peaks Challenge includes 5294m (17,368ft) of ascent, and 60km of mountain
paths. It is most often attempted within 48 hours, with around 21
hours walking time.
Along with the Five Peaks, other extensions to the
National Three Peaks Challenge
include the Four Peaks,
and Six Peaks Challenges.
